The Lobo Investment Club is a student organization dedicated to education and learning about investment principles and financial markets. We do not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or professional financial services.

All content on this Site — including articles, presentations, competition materials, and discussions — is for educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site should be construed as financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.

Before making any financial or investment decisions, you should consult with qualified financial advisors, accountants, or other professionals who can assess your individual circumstances.

The Site requires an account and login to access certain features, including competition dashboards, job and opportunity postings, and member resources.

You must provide accurate, current information when creating an account and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at loboinvest@clubs.unm.edu if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, inactivity, or graduation or loss of UNM student status. Accounts are personal and may not be shared, sold, or transferred. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or login functionality.

LIC hosts investment, stock-pitch, raffle, and giveaway activities for educational, community-building, or promotional purposes. Participation does not guarantee any prize, award, placement, or recognition.

Competition results are based on simulated investment strategies and do not involve real money or actual trading unless explicitly stated otherwise. Past performance does not guarantee future results.

Each activity may have official rules that supplement these Terms. Those rules will control if they conflict with these Terms and may describe eligibility, deadlines, entry methods, judging criteria, tie-breaking, drawing procedures, odds, prizes, taxes, claim deadlines, and disqualification. No purchase is necessary unless expressly stated in the applicable rules.

Raffle and giveaway winners may be selected at random, contacted using the information provided, and required to claim a prize within the stated period. Prizes are non-transferable unless otherwise stated and may be substituted when permitted by law. LIC may correct administrative errors, disqualify entries that violate the rules, and pause or cancel an activity when reasonably necessary to address fraud, technical problems, safety concerns, funding limits, University policy, or legal requirements.

The Site may include job, internship, and career opportunities from third parties. Listings are provided by third parties and may change, so verify details directly with the employer. LIC does not employ, endorse, vet, or guarantee any employer or opportunity, and using the Site does not guarantee an interview, offer, or employment outcome.

Information you submit for job-search purposes is shared at your own discretion. LIC is not responsible for third-party use of information or any agreement, offer, or dispute between you and a prospective employer.

The Site and all information on it are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.

We do not guarantee content accuracy, any specific outcome, uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any advertised prize, opportunity, or result will be realized. LIC and the University of New Mexico are not responsible for errors, omissions, interruptions, or results arising from Site use.

You may not access accounts or data that are not yours; probe, scan, penetration-test, hack, disable, or circumvent security; introduce harmful code; use unauthorized bots or scrapers; reverse-engineer the Site; misrepresent your identity; harass or defraud users; or access other users’ competition materials or job-search submissions.

Unauthorized security testing may violate applicable law and may result in account termination, referral to UNM conduct processes, or referral to law enforcement. Report genuine vulnerabilities responsibly to loboinvest@clubs.unm.edu rather than exploiting them.

All Site content, including logos, competition materials, and original written content, is owned by LIC or its licensors and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission, except as necessary to participate in club activities.

You retain ownership of original content you submit. By submitting content, you grant LIC a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, store, reproduce, review, format, and display that content only as reasonably necessary to operate the Site, administer an activity, communicate with participants, or recognize a submission under applicable rules. You represent that you have the rights needed to submit the content and that it does not unlawfully infringe another person's rights.

LIC may remove or decline to publish content that is unlawful, unsafe, misleading, harassing, discriminatory, plagiarized, confidential, or inconsistent with an activity's rules. LIC does not promise to monitor every submission and is not responsible for user-submitted content.

The Site may link to third-party websites. Links are provided for convenience only. LIC does not endorse, control, or assume responsibility for third-party content, privacy practices, or conduct.

This Section is the Site's complete privacy notice. LIC may collect information you provide directly, including your name, UNM email address, student or membership details, login credentials, competition submissions, raffle entries, prize-claim information, messages, job-search materials, and other information you choose to submit. We may also collect limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, approximate usage times, pages viewed, and security events.

We use this information only as reasonably necessary to create and secure accounts; provide member resources; administer competitions, raffles, and giveaways; communicate with participants; publish or share opportunities at your direction; respond to questions; improve accessibility and Site performance; detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents; comply with law and University of New Mexico requirements; and protect the rights, safety, and property of LIC, its members, and the University. We do not sell personal information or use it for unrelated targeted advertising.

We may share information with authorized LIC officers, faculty advisors, UNM personnel, service providers that help operate the Site, third parties you ask us to contact, employers or opportunity providers when you submit information for that purpose, and authorities when required by law or necessary to address safety, fraud, or security concerns. We share only the information reasonably appropriate for the relevant purpose and require service providers to handle it appropriately. Third-party services have their own privacy practices, which LIC does not control.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, legitimate educational and administrative needs, account security, dispute resolution, recordkeeping, or legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete it or remove identifying details, subject to backups, legal requirements, and University retention policies. You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by contacting loboinvest@clubs.unm.edu. We may need to verify your identity, and some requests may be limited by law, security needs, or University policy.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information we handle, but no website or transmission method is completely secure. Do not submit sensitive financial account numbers, passwords for other services, government identification numbers, health information, or other information that is not necessary for a Site feature. If you believe your account or information may be at risk, contact us promptly at loboinvest@clubs.unm.edu and change any reused password.

The Site uses necessary cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect account security, remember preferences, process entries, and understand how the Site is used. Non-essential analytics or similar technologies will be used only where permitted by law and, where required, after obtaining your choice. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some Site features may not function properly without necessary cookies. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LIC, its officers, members, faculty advisors, and UNM shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, opportunities, prizes, employment outcomes, or data, arising from Site use, competitions, raffles, giveaways, or job-search features.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the maximum aggregate liability of LIC and the other protected parties for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid to use the Site during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with using the Site and participating in club activities, competitions, raffles, giveaways, networking, and career-related opportunities, including risks arising from reliance on information, interactions with other users, technical interruptions, and third-party conduct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless LIC, its officers, members, faculty advisors, and UNM from claims arising from your participation or use of the Site, except to the extent caused by conduct that cannot legally be waived or released. This provision does not waive rights or remedies that applicable law prohibits us from requiring you to waive.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless LIC, its members, faculty advisors, and UNM from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from your violation of these Terms, misuse of the Site, participation in club activities, or violation of law or third-party rights, except to the extent caused by the protected party's own conduct where such indemnification is prohibited by law.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Site or an account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct violating these Terms, UNM policy, applicable law, or for any other reason at our discretion. We may also modify, suspend, or discontinue any Site feature, competition, raffle, giveaway, or opportunity at any time, subject to applicable law and any applicable official rules.

We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The Last Updated date reflects the most recent revision.

LIC exists solely to provide students opportunities to learn about financial markets, investment strategies, and professional development through speakers, workshops, competitions, networking, and career opportunities. Membership does not constitute professional credentials or qualifications.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Mexico, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and subject to applicable University of New Mexico policy.

Questions, accessibility requests, privacy requests, or reports of suspected misuse should be directed to loboinvest@clubs.unm.edu, University of New Mexico. Please do not include passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, or other unnecessary sensitive information in your message.

LIC may experience maintenance, outages, email delivery failures, software errors, loss of connectivity, delayed notifications, or events outside its reasonable control. To the fullest extent permitted by law, LIC is not responsible for resulting delay, loss, or interruption, and users should keep their own copies of important submissions and records.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will remain in effect. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

These Terms, together with any applicable official activity rules and policies expressly incorporated by reference, constitute the complete agreement concerning use of the Site. If an official activity rule conflicts with these Terms, the official activity rule controls only for that activity. Nothing in these Terms overrides applicable law, University of New Mexico policy, or legally protected rights.
